You thought having your horse at home would mean more freedom, more time together and

more enjoyment. But sometimes it feels like the opposite?

You're constantly wondering:

Did I make the right decision?

Should I have done that differently?

Why does this feel so much harder than I thought it would?

And then there's the guilt...

The weather changes and you're lying in bed wondering whether you should have put a rug on. You don't want to bore your friends and family with yet another horse conversation or have to bite your tongue when someone says it's just choices. Or even worse, suggests you should just sell them - because they simply don't understand.

And sometimes you're spending more time worrying about the money, the workload and

whether you're getting it all wrong than you are actually enjoying the horse you love.

I know that horse ownership doesn't always look like the picture you had in your head.

That doesn't mean you've made a mistake or that you're not cut out for it!

And it doesn't mean you have to go back to your old livery with your tail between your legs.
